Our History

The mooring and unmooring service for ships arriving at the port of Manzanillo, Mexico, began around the year 1920, just when when a ship arrived its crew members signaled to a person who was on land, warning him that they would throw him a TURC, known today as “La Tiradera”, so this person visualizes the possibility of providing this service to ships that continue to arrive at the port, so he organized with another to continue said service.

By the year 1935 they were already fully organized and it was in 1946 when the cable mooring and unmooring service was legally registered with the number 2,219 before the Department of Registration of Trade Union Associations of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, with the name of “Autonomous Union of ship moorers” adhered to the Mexican regional labor confederation (C.R.O.M.), achieving the main objective which was to have greater formality and presence with the shipping agencies that represented the ships in the port of Manzanillo.
